Sal Fasano, the Yankees’ new backup catcher, spent the first half of this season with the Phillies and said Lidle would do fine.
“His style of pitching is conducive to ground balls,” Fasano said. “Cory’s not going to overpower you, but he’s going to get you to beat the ball into the ground.”
